This coming Saturday, October 11th, I’m presenting a free Design Your Own SmartScape class for the Keep Coppell Beautiful Environmental Education program, from 11:00am-12:30pm at the Biodiversity Education Center.

Here’s the class description on the Coppell Community Garden website (click for more details):

From clay soils to hot and dry summers, homeowners face unique growing situations in North Texas, but there are plenty of solutions to overcome these difficulties. Design Your Own SmartScape will help you find these solutions and provide guidance on how to be “water wise” in your lawn and garden. This course is all about successful gardening by selecting the right plants for your landscape. Texas hardy native and adapted plant materials give everyone the edge for gardening success.

If you are ready to transform your property into a drought and heat tolerant landscape, this is the perfect introductory course to get you started. The class is open to the public and does not require registration.

If you aren’t able to make it but would still like to learn about smart landscaping, I teach a number of classes at Collin College in Plano that cover many of these same topics.
